Bullseye for the One Eye

With luck on their side the group uncovered the whereabout of the bandits in a small ravine encampment. There initail forey did not go unnoticed so with little time they fought back, in what will be retold by many of the company in greater heroic prose.
The tide of battle seemed to tuen against the group when an inspired ( or desperate ) move was made by Salem as he started to attack the encampment. With this he appeared to rally the others. Unfortunately Garro, Redd and teh human fighter charged through the narrow ravine to be hit by a series of nasty traps while Salem and Nathaniel with the elf in tow made their way around the edge of the encampment, taking shots at what they could from higher ground. Blix, always the shortest followed up the rear, seperated from Salems groups.
The horse charge left two horses dead and the three riders badly hurt when they were set upon by one of the Orgres. After this ogres defeat the ogress started to attack the riders.
Meanwhile back on the higher ground the small group encountered two humans leaving surreptitiously with a small bundle wrapped and tied to one of their backs. A short fight enshewed, with Salem taking damage and falling to the ground, while Nathaniel fought on, in the end the elf cast sleep on all ofthem. He removed the enemies weapons, bandaged Salem and then awoke Nathaniel. Nathaniel decided to support his friends below with their fight. He arrived to see a slightly differnet scene.
Blix had decided to rush to the edge of the cliff and was going to throw himself down onto the Ogress but when he saw the distance he changed his mind and instead threw his hammers , one landing on her head. The group on the ground, along with Blix and Nathaniel were shaken to see Baron One Eye emerge from the temple. A cyclops!
With this masonary went flying, the group reorganised and changed tactics. Redd was left to handle the Ogress, which he did. Blix retreated after having felt a hard cold peice of masonry flung at him, into the forest. Nathaniel fired arrows into the Cyclops while the three ex riders charged and encircled the huge creature as best they could. The session ended with the elf using a magic misslie on the baron, while wondering what to do about the two sleeping enemy, Nathaniel pin cushioning the cyclops, Salem unconcious but alive, Redd and Garro attacking the Cyclops hand to hand, with the youngest fighter buried under some masonary, bleeding to death and Blix in the eaves of the forest rescued by a shaman friend, offering to heal Blix but refusing to help any further. . .

Around and Around they go

The new group took to the job of hunting down this Baron One eye and wanting to collect on the reward. in their travels around the valley they managed to defeat a hill giant, a wyrm and several other small nusiances. When the group came close to Cembridge they say the pall of darkness and possibly evil hanging over the once proud city. They moved on with great speed from this now evil place. They returned to Syrup without any sign or further knowledge about the whereabouts of the baron or his men.
Taking some time to help the Sheriff fortify the village the group pondered where the most likely place would be for the Bandit and his men to lay low.
Once they had completed their civil dutues they took off once again. Unfortunately the Jester had been killed just before reacdhing Syrup and his place had been taken by another worthy soul, a young human fighter. Blix returned from hunting for his fallen brethern but Trog had continued on looking for better pastures.
With Blix in tow the group started off once again to hunt down the bandit and his men.

A New Beginning

With most of the group dragon fodder the last two members of the Wolf search for their friends. Another group of adventurers arrive in Surup and encounter a very harrowed Sheriff Wynz. He tells them that in the two weeks that have past all hell seems to have broken loose. Not only has his team of troubleshooter gone MIA but he has recieved news that his arse is on the line for not finding One Eye and returning the lords child. Also the town of Ceswick appears to have been invaded by some dark creature or creatures. Also the elvish diplomats that had been waylaid and kidnapped by the Nah have yet to be located. Into all of this and other rumours arrive the new group: Garro, a cleric of the Ancestors, a sect of of the Nah, a human fighter named Redd, two rangers, one human named Nathanial, and one elvish named Salem, and lastly a halfling Jester by the name of Garrald, who continually expounds his stealtier, combative and arcane abilities. The set off to locate One Eye and recover the lords child, collecting the 5000 gp reward for One eye’s head.

Almost TPK

While travelling the valley, looking for clues to hunt down One Eye, a Baron Bandit, the group were unfortunately attacked by a white dragon. The battle lasted all of three rounds, with Bergen putting up some small resistance and wounding the creature in the neck before it killed him. Only Bliq and Trogdor survive, and that is only because they were back in town. RIP Bergen, Jimmy, Gaely, Rhaln, and Snorri.

Jimmy's Bogus Adventure: The tale of Fawk

We got back to Surrup on the 16th of Beltane, we got told by Sheriff Wins that he has no more jobs for us, so we head to the tavern, Blix talks to some people in the tavern to find some jobs for us. While Ral talks to some strangers in boredom. I try to get a scroll case fashioned for myself. After the group gets back together a bit later Burg goes to the wharf to investigate this job offer told to him by Blix. We find another group member at the tavern named Fawk a strange Magic User, he is only an initiate (he only gains half the loot we do). We end up doing a job for a merchant barge which is heading up stream. Blix falls into the river due to his lack of sea legs, while our first watch we end up encountering a giant octopus of some sort, it ends up spraying us with ink before it runs away (most likely from Fawk doing his interpretive dance routine. Many nights pass without a problem. But one afternoon we got attacked by what appeared to be 5ft long piranhas, luckily Ral, Gaelin and myself escaped the water without harm. Gaelin and myself blast the creatures with magic missile. Fawk takes some serious damage from these creatures, while everyone runs for the shore. We wait for the creatures to leave, then we continue travelling. On the 31st of Beltane we encounter some strange turbulence while the captain of the barges says to make immediate landfall. We end up surrounded by elves while the captain makes parley. We wait for 3 days while Gaelin spends times with the elves. We get back to Surrup on the 41st, but on the way we find some hyena like humanoids, These foul creatures killed [[Fawk}} even though he was wearing his sweet black robe. But we did get some loot and we didn’t have to register Fawk in the adventures guild in Caslewick.

Jimmy's Bogus Adventure: The Awesomening

We leave Cembridge to go towards Caslewick which takes 3 days. However on the way we were attacked by a manticore, we rushed off our horses except for Ral who decides to shoot it instead. It strikes at Burg scratching him. We used our feeble attacks against the foul beast. Gaelin and I blast it with our magic missiles but of course I cast shield first which saves my life once again. Me and Gaelin end up taking out the horrid beast using magic missile. We claim the wings and claws as trophies.

We get inspected at Caslewick for traded goods tax as well as we are told the rules and regulations of Caslewick. We head out to the Blue Sword an “adventures inn” before we split up to attend our matters. Some of the group members go off and drink some ale. Burg, Gaelin and I go off for business and what not. We show out tapestries, books and black orb to a cleric of the sun god. We gain an array of potions and magical items as well as training. I viewed this decision as the most beneficial towards our group members over the other options we had. I’m the only group member who doesn’t receive a magical item because I already have a magic item that does the same thing as the one I was given. We train at the local facilities as well as pawning off our manticore limbs as we needed more training before we deemed ourselves ready enough to continue adventuring.

After we finish training we head off to Surup, on the second day we encounter a large pair of creatures which are about 9ft tall, greenish and stink. After we rend these creatures limb from limb which occurred after I cast the best spell ever “Mirror Image” but primarily magic missile took the cake once again.

Jimmy's Bogus Adventure: And the mystery of the Tree(s)

After we have established we were called Company of the Wolf we travelled to Pineford which took 3 days. On arrival we found a small child named Ral who conned Burg out of a few silver. We then travelled to the Pineford Inn and purchased a large amount of food and drinks. We decided to finally try to do what Sheriff Wins originally ask us to do and well Ral tagged along. We set out to find what were taking people and livestock from the town. We travelled into a cave in the forest and set off one trap multiple times while I cleverly positioned myself behind Trog as he attempted to plug where we suspected a jet of fire was being fired, as I passed the trap unscathed and my beloved scroll intact we continued. We passed through a small slither of a hallway and found a Paladin fighting off 3 men, a group of “Bug bears” and a Sorceress. As a large majority of the group went unconscious at one point in the battle to help the paladin, I emerged unscathed even when magic missiles were shot at me. Once most of the group decided to return to the town because of dire wounds to the group and Trog didn’t bring any food or water. Once we returned we found out that our efforts were in fact in vein so far. So we went to find out the true cause of these disappearances. While the rest of the party healed up from the previous combat Snorri and myself tried to find out the true culprit of the disappearances. After many hours of waiting a large vine came out of the forest and snatched one of the sheep from the paddock. Snorri and myself attempted to describe the situation to the others but they were reluctant to believe there was such things as “evil trees”. After a few days of waiting for the culprit strike again, it did! and got Snorri which was hilariously ironic, most of the group chased the vine down and eventually killed it after it knocked out Snorri and severely damaged Burg. After we killed it and the rest of the group caught up, we followed the vine to find a strange alter in the middle of the forest. Trog decided that it was a good idea to pull this strange red stone out of the mouth of a skull we found at the alter. Of course the skeletons animated and attacked us. We managed to fend off these creatures and found some valuable loot.

Jimmy's Bogus Adventure: The creation of the company of the wolf

After Jimmy had arrived in Surup and entered the bar. A group of people ran in yelling about how there was a bandit raid, Jimmy being as awesome as he is decided that he could handle them all, but apparently so did nearly everyone else in the bar including his new acquaintance Blix the dwarfish cleric who seems to have a great fondness of strength. However when he arrived he saw the bandits are more of targets for an unspoken challenge between the group who raced towards them, he thought if I could kill or at least incapacitate the most it would show that his skills in the magical arts have been increasing over the years of his travels. After he incapacitated at least 2 of them out of approximately 10, he thought he needed to gain more power and this group seems to run towards trouble rather than hides from it, therefore accelerating the rate of which he will gain power. However he does not wish to use his powers for evil rather what seems to be the better idea at the time. During some down time for most of the group Burg and Snorri went off to find the bandit lair and successfully dispatched the creatures guarding it, after they had accomplished this they gave me my second if not most prized possession a scroll containing an array of powerful spells as well as getting us a place to stay. A while later the group set out scouting out the wilderness for potential threats to Surup and encountered multiple vile creatures, one could be described as an owl somehow fused with a bear, an owlbear if you will, which seems to have an adverse affect on adventurer’s named Eric, while the others we faced seem to be fairly disturbing humanoid creatures with redish skin and a lot more hair on there body although these didn’t pose much of a threat to our group we still treated them like we do most encounters, with the head on approach. After this we decided to name our group, well Burg came up with the name Company of the Wolf and appointed roles of the group and I currently have no roles thus far.

Burg's Tale: The 300 - 298

Having spent the last couple of days healing and trying to convince the adventurers in the town that there might be some extra fame and wealth in finishing off the bandits that first night in Surup, Snori and Myself decided that rather than stand around talking about it we’d just go solve the problem. We started our search by searching the sight of the original attack and the direction in which the few escaping bandits had fled. This led us further through the small wood and eventually run us along side a clearing with a small rise and a stone structure at the top.
doing a quick circle of the structure we determined that our best approach was going to be the shortest but steeper climb up the rear side of the build. We quickly tied our horse about 100 ft from the edge of the woods and made our way around the rear of the strucure making a few quick bolt from the treeline the it’s high stone walls. Snori and I then decided that from here we would first quietly move around the complex trying to discern if we could hear anyone inside and if so were they friendly or hostile. This search only gave us a possible 3 entry points, A small but rusty sewer grate, Over the wall itself or through the front door. We decided that since the Front entry was barred and anyone inside was doing their best to stay hush hush about being there that going straight in was the worst option given that there were only 2 of us and could be many more of them. We first tryed the sewer grate option but after numerous trys to pry and pull the bars free they would not give way. This left only one option,We decided to wait for night to fall in order to stack the odds in our favour as much as possible and so whilst standing on Snori’s shoulders I hooked a rope and grappling hook over the walls edge and we climbed over the 13ft wall onto a ledge fit for watchmen and archers. Sadly we found this out the hard way as we spied four such watchmen around the structures, Thankfully only one of them had spotted our fumbling over the wall. It became a contest of speed at that moment my bow and Snori’s Spear vs his not so enormous intellect, Not much of a contest. My arrow struck home right into his throat dropping him where he stood whilst Snori’s spear soared off into the black of the night. Quickly equiping him with another spear Snori and myself moved like a pair of steel clad mammoths along the creaking boards towards the next watchmen who stared obliviously off into the pitch black night, This guard did not even see nor HEAR his doom approach as the spear and arrow pierced his armour and flesh forcing him over the wall of the compound. Two left, we voted to take each separately I heaved Snori onto the slighty higher roof of the tallest tower in the compound where he could get clean access to one of the remaining sentries. I quickly tossed him a dagger to throw at his quarry and took my spot for a clear shot at the other guard. Another Arrow loosed from my bow took the guard down. I could hear the faint sounds of Snori engaging the remaining guard. Then I saw it stalk into the lantern light in the middle of the compounds courtyard, A wolf the size of a large pony sniffed the air and twitched its ears for the faintest noise. I slinked my way back to the raised tower roof and clambered over to tell Snori what awaited us. He too had already noticed the monster dog. We crouched and took aim launching arrows at the beast hoping to drop it before it hance the chance to set upon us, No such luck however as the creature deftly lept up onto the walkway and charged me. I stupidly tryed to cover my body using my bow arm and paid the price as the creatures maw engulfed my forearms and it’s piercing teeth started digging into my flesh. Through the pain I quickly regained my senses drew my short blade and thrust it deep into the Dire wolf’s unprotected neck causing it to slump to the side and start falling off the walkway trying to take me with it. I can’t beleive I managed to wrench my arm free from it’s powerful jaws without to much further damage to my arm. I bandaged my arm whilst Snori ensured that the Wolf was not going to recover and come back to bite us in the behind. We then formulated a plan of moving clockwise around the doors of the compound and taking things as we come. Before we even made it to the first door however it opened and another bandit appeared he was quickly dispatched by another well placed arrow from my bow(Seems my aim has not suffered from the damamge to my arm). We quickly entered the room that the guard had emerged from and found a grusome site of a family being tortured. I dragged the torturers body back inside while snori quieted the people and using some keys found on the dead body we released the prisoners of this hell hole, they immediatedly pleaded that we save their daughter in the next room who was to be sacrificed to some unholy dark god. Feeling the tug on just a few of my hearts strings from this story sent me boldly storming toward the door,Snori close behind. The Door flung open as we pushed it in followed by the sound of my bow string releasing an arrow towards the master of the dark ceremony who dropped heavily to one side from his would be sacrifice. The Girl looked like she was about to scream but Snori managed to make it to her and calm her from the ordeal. I on the other hand was still enraged and proceeded to take it out by driving the Heretics own ceremoniel dagger through his eye and into his brain leaving him in the centre of the unholy symbol on the floor hoping that whatever dark god he worshipped was now ironically tormenting his soul. We bandaged and cared for the tortured people as best as we could given our skills. Turns out they were the owners of the goods from the raid we had first encountered the bandits at. We decided that they would do best to hole up here and wait till we returned, we left then to continue our rout on the bandits although if the merchant familys ramblings were accurate the leader of this rabble may be a large humanoid. The next door we came to had people that could easily be heard from outside the room in it. We decided that since we could be out numbered here we would take and use flasks of lit oil to cause confusion then pick off stragglers. Again we threw open the door then tossed te oil into the room at the unaware bandits seated at a large table playing games of dice, The horror on their faces apparant when the flames cloaked them and began to scortch their flesh. Wilst wildly trying to put themselves our we picked of the remainders then searched the room stealing weapons to replace those we lost over the walls of the compound when entering. The Next structure we came to was ether the stables or the dire wolf’s personal larder as all the horses inside had had their throats ripped open and their flesh had started being consumed by the overgrown beast.
